College of Physical Education,Zhengzhou University,Zhengzhou 450044,China) Abstract: Based on the stress theory and passive training stress response model theory, the authors investigated 163 excellent athletes rated class one or higher by means of mental health measurement form, athlete’s kinetic fatigue questionnaire, social support evaluation form and social support perception measurement form, performed reliability analysis, Pierson correlation analysis and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis (the stepwise approach) by using the SPSS10.0 software, and revealed the following findings: The mental health level of excellent athletes is closely related to the degree of kinetic fatigue, and the coefficient of correlation between most factors reaches a sig-nificant level; physical exhaustion and emotional exhaustion in kinetic fatigue are the important factors to predict the mental health level of excellent athletes; age, athletic rating, economic condition, family support perception and mental health are the important factors to predict the kinetic fatigue of excellent athletes; social support is an impor-tant external “buffer” in the process of training stress response, and the family support perception and subjective support therein play a major role in adjustment.
