It has not only created the form of border station culture of China in the new era, but also started a new chapter in the history of sports undertaking of the corps. The development of corps sports has gone through a path and mode of development that is different from those gone through by other provinces, experi-enced such five historical development stages as establishment (1949.10-1954.9), preliminary formation (1954.10-1966.4), suffering serious frustration (1966.5-1975.3), revival (1981.11-1991.9) and new era (1991.10-2007). The historical mission, special organizational structure and immigrant culture of the border station-ing and construction corps are the social foundation for the formation of corps sports. Painstaking pioneering, enter-prising optimism, strong cohesion, intense group ambience, diversity, regionality, fusional nature and dynamic na-ture are the culture characters of corps sports. Corps sports have inherited and carried forward military sports cul-ture, enriched national sports, embodied mainstream culture of the nation, and promoted national cohesion and in-spiration.
