| （1.Department of Physical Education，Guangdong University of Technology，Guangzhou 510090，China；2.School of Physical Education，South China University of Technology，Guangzhou 510640，China） Abstract: By applying SWOT analytic method in management science, the authors analyzed the prospect of tennis professionalization in China, and put forward the following opinions: at present, with respect to tennis profession-alization in China, the biggest advantages are the assurance of sports systems in China, rapid enhancement of com-petitive performance of women’s tennis, and the experience of nationwide tennis clubs in league tournament, the disadvantages are inadequate recognition of the nature of professionalization, conflicts between professionalized cultivation modes and the nationwide system, insufficient supply of backup talents, and not high competitive per-formance of men’s tennis, the opportunities faced are the rapid development of Chinese economy, popularization of tennis, energetic games such as Chinese Tennis and Shanghai Master Cup, and favorable chances in Beijing Olym-pic Games 2008, and the threats faced are the lack of funds, shortage of professionalized talents, inadequate cultiva-tion of the tennis market, and immature professionalization operating modes.
