| （1.School of Physical Education，Zhejiang University of Technology，Hangzhou 310014，China；2.Wushu School，Shanghai University of Sports，Shanghai 200438，China） Abstract: Firstly, the authors outlined the formation and development of “independent development and decent morals”, the basic spirit of the Chinese nation; secondly, the authors demonstrated the development of Wushu spirit in the 20th century; lastly, based on the mainstream trend of development of world civilization and the reality in China today, and by demonstrating from microscopic and macroscopic perspectives, the authors pointed out that the new trend of Wushu spirit in the 21st century is to value the “martial moral spirit” of “decent morals” while continu-ing to embody the spirit of “independent development”, and to highlight the “harmony” concerned cultural feature.
