(1.School of Physical Education,South China Normal University,Guangzhou 510006,China;2.Department of Physical Education,Hebei University of Engineering,Handan 056038,China) Abstract: Designing physical education lessons for an elementary school in Japan needs to go through processes such as objectives (including class objectives), teaching contents, annual guidance plan and physical education les-son guidance etc., which have formed a longitudinal system from top to bottom. In order to improve the fitness and health level of students in China, elementary schools in China should build a student fitness improving and student sports ability enhancing physical education lesson teaching content system, let physical education lesson teaching contents cover such 6 sports areas as physical strength enhancing sports, track and field, gymnastics, ball games, swimming and dancing, teach the lessons by using methods which can realize sports values, and ensure necessary class hours for the teaching contents of various sports areas.
