| （Sports Section，Shenzhen University，Shenzhen 518060，China) Abstract: By getting an insight into the basic status of the people in Daejeon of South Korea participating in leisure sports activities, and by studying and analyzing latest social index statistics of Daejeon, the author concluded that the followings were the main social reasons for the people to participate in leisure sports in their spare time: superior natural environments; adequate sports venues and facilities as well as favorable conditions, perfected bicycling fa-cilities; humanized fitness and mountaineering roads; abundant leisure time and living conceptions different from traditional ones; multicultural influence and impact etc.
