Abstract: For the understanding on the characteristics and system of physical education science, the subject of folk traditional sports is very backward in the science of physical education.The paper, under reviewing and analyzing the developing course and the present problems of the subject of folk traditional sports,puts forward the basic contents and characteristics,the subject position and aims,and the main targets and plans of the subject,which makes the subject obtain the sustaining competitive ability and promote its holistic construction and development.
