| (1．Department of Physical Education,Shantuo University,Shantuo 515063,China;2．Department of Physical Education，Northwest National University，Lanzhou 730010，China) Abstract: The author analyzed the cultivation target of social sports specialty in ordinary universities and colleges in China and the demand of the society for social sports talents, and revealed the following findings: At present,the orientation of cultivation target of social sports specialty disengages from social demand,resulting in that the design of curriculum scheme of that specialty is not rational enough, and that employment orientation is not definite enough, and that the employment situation for the graduates of that specialty is not optimistic. Accordingly,the author suggested that social sports specialty should,in accordance with social demand,orientate its cultivation target in cultivating for the society the “skill instruction type” advanced specialized talents who engage in public sports activities in social sports area,so as to serve nationwide fitness undertaking better.
