| (Department of Physical Education,Zhejiang Institute of Media, Hangzhou 310018，China) Abstract: The author investigated and analyzed the situation of optional track and field class opened in 12 ordinary universities and colleges in Zhejiang province,and revealed the following finding: The quality and enjoyable nature of track and field games launched by the universities and colleges are affected,since the universities and colleges which do not open a track and field class currently are confronted with a drop of track and field sports level. Accordingly,the author brought forward corresponding countermeasures in relation to how ordinary universities and colleges should open a track and field class,so as to boost the development of track and field sports level in universities and colleges.
