Abstract:Currently a number of misunderstandings exist in PE teaching in middle and elementary schools, e.g. non-Olympic event teaching is not the normal PE teaching,warming-up must be carried out through line-up free-standing exercise,teaching material for a PE class should be arranged comprehensively,and relaxing exercise must be simple and effective, etc. The reasons for causing these misunderstandings are the followings: Teacher’s teaching conception fails to adapt to the need of PE teaching reform, PE teacher’s overly professionalized education for competitive sports,inadequacy of PE teaching material itself,and routinism of teaching form,etc.In order to eliminate these misunderstandings,the teachers must enhance their own quality,establish innovative consciousness in teaching,carry out experimental class reform actively,and change the conception of PE teaching evaluation; meanwhile,the development of linkage between the education for PE specialty in colleges and universities and the physical education in middle and elementary schools should be speeded up.
