(College of Physical Education,Nanjing Normal University,Nanjing 210046,China) Abstract: The authors studied the issue of TV sports communication, and put forward such a concept as TV sports popularization, which refers to the process of turning sport and its culture into sports programs on TV, such as sports news, sports review, special sports topic, live broadcast or relay broadcast of sports competition, and documentary spots film, i.e. the process of turning real-life sport into sports programs on the TV medium. TV sports popularization has shortened the distance between modern people and sport, and changed the relation between modern people and sport. However, many abuses have occurred in the process of development, such as the privilege of relay TV broadcast governing sport, sports violence being badly spread, blind pursuit of entertainment orientated sport, the balance of sport communication being destroyed, and the public’s sports view being twisted.
