The makings of an excellent basketball referee ZHANG Wei-jian

(Department of Physical Education，Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education，Guangzhou 510500，China) Abstract:The author probed into the makings of and requirements for an excellent basketball referee, and concluded that an excellent basketball referee must have such 5 makings as valuing knowledge learning and accumulation, clearly knowing the objectives and rational orientation of the job, correctly handling the success and frustration in the refereeing job, being good at experience summarization and skill enhancement, and profoundly understanding and nicely handling the relationship between the nature and harmony of competition.
