(1.College of Physical Education,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510640,China;2.Guangdong Sports Technical Institute,Guangzhou 510105,China) Abstract: From the perspective of the need of social development for new type of sports talents, the authors ana-lyzed the advantages and feasibility of developing emerging physical education subjects in multiversities, and drew the following conclusions: Social development has put forward higher requirements for the need of sports talents in terms of type and level; today’s sports talent cultivation mode no longer satisfies the need of the society; construct-ing and developing emerging physical education subjects in multiversities is provided with the advantages of hu-manistic and academic environments and multi-subjects; developing physical education subjects in multiversities is practically feasible since that it is inconformity with the state’s strategy for developing sports science and technol-ogy, and that resource sharing can resolve the contradiction between subject construction and resource deficiency, and that subject pervasion provides physical education subjects with a space for development. Moreover, the authors probed into specific measures for developing emerging physical education subjects in multiversities.
