(Department of Physical Education,Guangdong Polytechnic Normal Institute,Guangzhou 510665,China) Abstract: Such traditional minority national sports events as shuttlecock, pearl ball and Yajia have become the con-tents of physical education curriculum in several institutes of higher learning in Guangdong. Institutes of higher learning in Guangdong have hosted several single event games about minority national sports, and organized sports teams to participate in Guangdong provincial and nationwide minority national games. The development of tradi-tional minority national sports in institutes of higher learning in Guangdong can not only boost the inheritance and communication of minority national sports culture, but also enrich the contents of collegiate physical education cur-riculum. The author tried to boost the development of traditional minority national sports in institutes of higher learning in Guangdong by utilizing the collegiate platform and by means of physical education class teaching, ex-tracurricular collegiate physical education training and competition, setting up a traditional minority national sports event training base and student community, and establishing collegiate traditional minority national sports competi-tion and research associations.
