(Department of Physical Education,Anshan Normal Institute,Anshan 114005,China) Abstract: The authors compared and analyzed the physical shape, physical functions and physical stamina of class 2005 urban and rural college students in Liaoming province by means of measurement and mathematical statistics, and revealed the following findings: 1) the height, weight and chest circumference of urban college students in Liaoning province are superior to those of rural college students; except that the weight of class 2005 college stu-dents is lighter than the average weight of class 2000 college students, the height and chest circumference of class 2005 college students are generally superior to the average height and chest circumference of class 2000 college students; there are more overweight and fat urban college students than overweight and fat rural college students, and compared with class 2000 college students, the number of overweight and fat class 2005 college students is generally reduced; 2) the cardiopulmonary function of college students in Liaoning province is kind of poor, and urban college students have a better cardiopulmonary function than rural students; the vital capacity of class 2005 male college students is superior to that of class 2000 male college students, but the vital capacity of class 2005 fe-male college students is significantly deteriorated; 3) the physical stamina of rural college students in Liaoning province is generally superior to that of urban college students, but the physical stamina of class 2005 college stu-dents is significantly weakened.
