| （1.College of Physical Education，Xinjiang Normal University，Urumuqi 830054，China；2.College of Physical Education，Nanjing Normal University，Nanjing 210046，China） Abstract: By investigating the current state of playgrounds used for traditional sports events of Xinjiang minority nationality, the authors drew the following conclusions: the particularities of the development of playgrounds used for traditional sports events of Xinjiang minority nationality show in the argument between “playground useful opinions” and “playground useless opinions”, individualization of regional development, difficulties in the unifica-tion of measuring standards, universality of multipurpose playgrounds, as well as unbalanced supply and demand between urban and rural areas; for the development of playgrounds used for traditional sports events of Xinjiang minority nationality, we should seize the good opportunity of the comprehensive implementation of the “project of a 5 000 km long sports corridor surrounding Tianshan”, encourage the individualization of regional development, strengthen the development and application of existing playgrounds, and change our conception to shift our focus on development from urban areas to rural areas.
