(1.College of Physical Education,South China Nomal University,Guangzhou 510631,China;2.Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education,Guangzhou 510500,China;3.Department of Physical Education,SunYat-sen University,Guangzhou 510275,China) Abstract: By reviewing the argument about and development of the physical education concept in Germany, prob-ing into the course of development of the physical education discipline in Germany, introducing major modes used in Germany to construct the physical education disciplinary system, and giving an overview of the current state of the 3-level degree (bachelor, master and doctor) conferring system and disciplinary major setup in institutes of higher learning in Germany, the authors summed up a few enlightenments for the construction of the physical edu-cation disciplinary system in China, which specifically include the followings: it is hopeful for the science of physi-cal education in China to become a disciplinary category; the construction of the physical education disciplinary system in China should be more scientific, normative and rational; we should keep boosting the power for the de-velopment of the physical education discipline in China; the setup of the physical education disciplinary major (ori-entation) in institutes of higher learning should be considered by combining disciplinary needs with social demands.
