| （1.College of Physical Education，Hunan Normal University，Changsha 410081，China；2.Department of Physical Education，Hengyang Normal University，Hengyang 421008，China） Abstract: The authors probed into sports management system reform in China from the perspective of theories of governance, and offered the following suggestions: the functions of various principal social bodies such as civil so-ciety and sports agency should be fully exerted; the balance between the nation, market and civil society should be realized; traditional administrative management mode should be transformed into public management mode, so as to build a flexible and highly efficient service orientated government, and to boost the healthy, fast and sustainable de-velopment of the sports undertaking in China.
