| （Department of Exercise，Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education，Guangzhou 510500，China） Abstract: The authors investigated the current state of post Olympic Games backup talent base construction in Guangdong province, and revealed such problems as that the project layout and key projects at the base did not match so well with the Olympic strengths of China, and that the coaches at the base did not have good makings and high scientific training capacities, and that the talent cultivation mode for the base did not adapt to the sustainable development of market economy. Therefore, the authors put forwards measures such as intensify training system reform, optimize resource configuration, exert territory advantages, adjust layout structure and optimize project setup, strengthen coach cultivation, and increase training fund.
