Department of Wushu，Guangzhou Institute of Physical Education，Guangzhou 510500，China） Abstract: The earliest Wushu school was formed in the Ming dynasty, and its good and bad have been clearly ex-posed after several hundred years of development. We should improve the mode of existence of the Wushu school, in stead of banning its existence or letting it run its own course. We should think about the form of existence of tra-ditional Wushu and its school from the perspective of inheriting national heritage, and put the Wushu school on the track of club type development from the perspective of carrying on and forward traditional culture. Conducive tries have been made on the columns of “Wushu Assembly” and “Wushu Heat”. In consideration of Chinese national circumstances and current state of development of Wushu, the construction of Wushu clubs can be gradually im-plemented in three phases. When such aspects as social health, defense, entertainment and leisure need and call for Wushu nowadays, Wushu must be reformed and transited to civilized and normative modern sports clubs at the same time.
