| （1.School of Physical Education，Hebei Normal University，Shijiazhuang 050016，China；2.National College，Hebei Normal University，Shijiazhuang 050091，China） Abstract: By collecting literature data, the authors probed into and pieced together the history of ZHANG Hui-lan and modern sports in Tianjin. Chinese modern women sports activist ZHANG Hui-lan once worked in Tianjin in the 1930s, being one of the founders of Physical Education Department of Heibei Women Normal Institute in Tianjin, working as the director of that department twice, making quite a contribution to women physical education in Tian-jin and north China; she actively organized and participated in social sports in Tianjin, being a very active social sports activist with organizing capability; she was also one of the earliest women officially organized to watch Olympic Games in the history of Tianjin and China as well, and deemed as a “celebrity with outstanding contribu-tions in the sports community”.
