According to the overall characteristics of industrial sports associations in new China in such 5 aspects as organizational structures, organizational norms, organizational activi-ties, organizational forms and organizational functions, the authors divided the historical development of industrial sports associations in new China into 4 stages: foundation and development, decline and stagnation, recovery and reconstruction, as well as reform and challenge. The future trend of industrial sports associations is to develop into a community organization.
