| (Department of Physical Education，Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade，Shanghai 201620，China) Abstract: According to the social process of growing sequence and experience of human beings, the author divided lifetime physical education into pre-school physical education, scholastic physical education, during-career physical education and post-career physical education. Characteristics of participation in lifetime sport embody in uncer-tainty, inconsistency, stability and difference in the degree of participation. Due to the change of such factors as age, figure, physical stamina condition, physiological condition and social environment, factors affecting participation in sport at different stages in lifetime sport are not always the same.
