(Department of Physical Education,Zhoukou Normal University,Zhoukou 466000,China) Abstract: The author expatiated on the significance of the blending of “expansion games” into physical education classrooms in institutes of higher learning in the following aspects: “expansion games” can enrich physical educa-tion teaching contents, enhance the practicability and fun of physical education classes, and expand the functions of physical education classes, and analyzed the feasibility of the entrance of “expansion games” into physical educa-tion classrooms in institutes of higher learning from the following perspectives: the entrance of expansion games into physical education classrooms in institutes of higher learning is in conformity with the need for college cur-riculum reform and the personal characteristics of contemporary college students, and conducive to the entrance of expansion games into the college physical education curriculum system; college teachers are competent for teaching “expansion games”. The author put forward a specific train of thoughts for popularizing the development of “expan-sion games” in institutes of higher learning.
