| （School of Physical Education，Chongqing University，Chongqing 400044，China） Abstract: Debates about the differences between Chinese and western sports cultures have existed for a long time. Although these debates are conducive for researches to go a step further, the researchers should retrospect current views on the nature of Chinese and western sports cultures, establish rational modes for studying Chinese and west-ern sports cultures, and apply rational and scientific methods to reveal the nature of the differences between Chinese and western sports cultures.
