(1.School of Physical Education,Yangzhou University,Yangzhou 225009,China) Abstract: The author gave an overview of the literature on the comparison of scholastic physical education in core Chinese journals of physical education issued between 1990 and 2007, and revealed that the development of scho-lastic physical education shows the following trends: teaching modes are required to be practical and easily opera-tional; curriculum objectives will be more flexible, fully embody lifetime physical education and the ideology of capacities education, and focus more on cultivating student’s interest and exerting their subjective initiative; cur-riculum standards and contents will be developed to become more diversified, selectable, flexible, live related, so-cialized, localized and practical, and the proportion of optional courses will be increased; for teaching evaluation, more attention will be paid to process evaluation, the combination with conclusive evaluation will be advocated, and self-evaluation of students will be valued; for the cultivation of teachers for the physical education specialty, multi-ple modes will be adopted, the credit system will be implemented, the principle of loose student recruitment and strict student cultivation will be followed, and versatile talents for physical education will be cultivated.
