(1.School of Physical Education,Guangzhou University,Guangzhou 510006,China;2.School of Education,SUN Yat-sen University,Guangzhou 510275,China) Abstract: The authors analyzed researches made in occidental countries and China on “vulnerable groups” “disad-vantageous groups”, “special education” and “special physical education”, further put forward the concept of “physically vulnerable groups”: groups that are at an unfavorable position in terms of physical health (mainly physical development), especially when they are engaging in physical strength demanding learning and living, and finally set forth standards for the definition of “physically vulnerable groups”: one sufficient condition, i.e. groups of people whose body has a disease or handicap that makes them not suitable for participating in intense sports ac-tivities; two basic standards: groups of people who score 59 points or less in tests under the Student Physical Health Standard; groups of people whose BMI is less than 20 kg/m2 or greater than or equal to 26.5 kg/m2.
