(Department of Physical Education,Huizhou University,Huizhou 510615,China) Abstract: the author analyzed teacher’s occupational skill training related contents in the newly issued Physical Education Curriculum Standard and Curriculum Program as well as curriculum programs for the education major of physical education departments in normal institutes of higher learning in Huizhou city, and revealed the following findings: the Physical Education Curriculum Standard and Curriculum Program has set fort new requirements for physical education teacher’s occupational skills in terms of class teaching skill, sports activity development skill, modern education technique and skill; the Curriculum Program has had a new breakthrough in cultivation objectives for the physical education major, increased curriculum courses, added curriculum forms, and extended the flexibility of curriculum structure, but it fails to shower sufficient attention on physical education teacher’s occupational skill cultivation, and has too few training related curriculum contents; the occupational skill training curriculum for regular physical education teachers in 6 normal institutes of high learning has such problems as little curriculum teaching time, incomprehensive contents, not highly action specific, undiversified teaching methods, experiential teaching forms, and weakness in education practice.
