| （Department of Physical Education，Chongqing Institute of Technology，Chongqing 400050，China） Abstract: By applying such methods as questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and structural equation model, the authors carried out a multidimensional analysis and research on the physical exercise motives of college students in Chongqing and their affecting factors, and revealed the following findings: multidimensional factors affect multi-dimensional physical exercise motives differently, in which interest and hobby are the main physical exercise mo-tives of college students, while sports ability and school sports facility are the main dimensions that affect student’s physical exercise motives, and physical education teacher’s capacity plays a relative big role in boosting the cultiva-tion of student’s physical exercise interest and hobby.
