(School of Physical Education,South China University of Technology,Guangzhou 510641,China) Abstract: In college physical education teaching reform, the understanding and implementation process of jovial sport, sports interest and “triple independent” course selection are not clearly orientated, which has resulted in that college physical education cannot be effectively resolved , and that college student’s physical quality shows signs of continuous deterioration. Fundamental causes for the deterioration of college student’s physical quality are insuffi-cient exercising time, inadequate exercising volume and intensity, and failure to acquire due sports knowledge and skills as well as in-depth experience of tough tempering in physical education classes. In college physical education teaching reform, factors of “ideological tempering education” should be blended into physical education classes to form a conception of college physical education with the process of “ideological tempering education”.
