In such changes the most wor-risome change is the weakening or even disappearing of its educational meaning. While the educational meaning of the opening ceremony is the most fundamental purpose of such modern Olympic pioneers as Pierre de Coubertin for setting up ceremonies such as opening ceremony. By comparing changes made to the opening ceremony before and after the visual age, the authors probed into changes caused by media and mechanisms of changing, and therefore drew such conclusions as that the opening ceremony of Olympic Games in the visual age is gradually losing its ba-sic Olympic educational meaning.
