| （1.Department of Physical Education，Xiangtan University，Xiangtan 411105，China；2.Department of Physical of Education，Baoji University of Arts and Sciences，Baoji 721007，China） Abstract: Aiming at the occurrence of tragic events in competitive sport, the authors put forward the “physiological distance” doctrine and the theory of competitive sports tragedies from the perspective of tragedy physiology, and based on the doctrine and theory, dissected the dynamic balance and peak reversion of the sense of sublimity and pleasure as well as subject emotional activities of competitive sports tragedies, as well as “purification” and “apper-ception” functions of competitive sports tragedies, and further put forward that tragedy spirit is the tension of life of competitive sports tragedies.
