(School of Law,Shandong University,Jinan 250100,China) Abstract: In principle the EU law does not regulate sports legally; related documents that embody sports policies are mainly governmental manifestoes of EU, resolutions made by European Union Committee (EUC), and decisions made by European Court of Justice, including some analyses and handlings of sports issues from the perspective of the competition law. Most competition law involved sports disputes were handled by EUC, since after all there were only a small number of cases in which related parties appealed to the EU Court due to their discontent with deci-sions made by EUC. And most competition law involved disputes are closely related to sports commercialization and marketization, thus these disputes have lost their inherent nature as sport disputes and become disputes with commercial nature.
