| （Department of Physical Education，Changsha University of Science and Technology，Changsha 410076，China） Abstract: From the perspective of lifetime sport the authors analyzed extracurricular college sports competitions in China in terms of the necessity and objectives of as well as the measures for the reform of extracurricular college sports competitions in China, and considered that reforming the organization means, content setup and competition forms of extracurricular college sports competitions in China can effectively help college students establish the life-time sport awareness, and arouse college student’s interest in participating in physical exercises.
