The results show that during the Beijing Olympic Games, Chinese newspapers used diversified frames in coverage topics, extensive frames in coverage projects but the native frame still took the priority in coverage angles. The author argues that stars or winning and loss should not be the only goal for the press to search for during the games and the extensive coverage frames can display better the Olympic’s beauty of “the main point is to participate”. Besides, the native frames and the international frames of the Olympic coverage need to be balanced more because of the Olympic Games is a international pageant.
