(School of Phisical Education,Nanjing Normal University,Nanjing 210046,China) Abstract: Ethics is provided with a profound critical retrospection and self questioning function, and such a func-tion works directly on the mental world of everyone in such an ethical entity as school physical education. There-fore, contemplating the function of school physical education on boosting the development of school physical edu-cation from the perspective of ethnics has a positive and profound effect. The retrospection and criticism of ethics on the “naturally to be” state of school physical education are indispensable for the assurance and reality of student’s right to physical education. Similarly, the value guidance and behavior protocol of ethnics are indispensable for the healthy, sustainable and efficient development of school physical education. For school physical education to change from the “naturally to be” state to the “ought to be” state, in terms of the value orientation of school physical education, we should establish the value orientation of life caring, and value the individual enjoyable functions of school physical education; in terms of physical education teaching, we should strive to make physical education teaching fair and righteous; in terms of extracurricular sports activities, we should manage to ensure the realization of student’s right to participating in sports activities freely and equally by taking institutional measures; in terms of school sports competition, we should determine the humanistic, gaming, educational and non-utilitarian nature of competitive activities.
