(1.Department of Physical Education,Northwest Polytechnical University,Xi’an 710072,China;2.School of Physical Education,Shaanxi Normal University,Xi’an 710062,China) Abstract: Based on summarizing theories on social appreciation responses, by combining the actual circumstances of questionnaire survey in scientific researches on physical education, and by basing their testees on 279 freshman and sophomore college students, the authors examined the effects of appreciation motives and measurement scenar-ios on questionnaire survey results in scientific researches on physical education, and revealed the following find-ings: both appreciation motives and measurement scenarios have effects on questionnaire survey results in scientific researches on physical education; when answering a questionnaire, testees with higher appreciation motives tended to be affected by measurement scenarios, while testees with low appreciation motives were less affected by meas-urement scenarios, thus their responses were more accurate; in a less specific measurement scenario, individual be-haviors would be affected by the degree of intensity of hoping to get social appreciation, i.e. the motive unit in per-sonality; in a more specific measurement scenario, the responses of testees to questionnaire survey were more accu-rate no matter they hoped to get social appreciation or not; there might be appreciation motive thresholds and meas-urement scenario thresholds.
