(School of Physical Education,Shandong Normal University,Jinan 250014,China) Abstract: From the perspective of ethics, the authors discussed people’s judgment on the value of competition re-sults, proved the invalidity of the so called “competition norms” according to the inevitability of the existence of competition rules, especially the irrationality of “competition norms” as “secondary norms” beyond competition rules, which restrain athlete’s competition behaviors and actions, and revealed the following findings: many compe-tition related problems originate from people’s different understandings of the judgment on the value of competition results, resulting in the difference of purposes of people to participate in competition. For competitive sports to de-velop healthily, it is necessary to rationally analyze the difference between the value of “trueness” and the value of “goodness” in competition, as well as our true motive to select behaviors and actions conducted under the guidance of the value of “goodness” in competition.
