In the practice of martial arts over a long period of time, through their own ideological apprehension and summarization of wisdom, the Shaolin monks also had relatively fixed behavior codes and ethical standards, namely, the ethics of Shaolin Wushu, which mainly embody in that martial arts should be practiced for goodness, fitness and self defense, and should base primarily on Gongfu and “stick boxing”, and secondarily on martial skills and “arms”. The formation of the ethics of Shaolin Wushu was influenced by the Dhyana culture, traditional culture and regional culture.
