| （School of Physical Education，Shanxi University，Taiyuan 030006，China） Abstract: The authors sorted and analyzed the usage of terms of fitness equipment in fitness rooms in China today, and found that there are totally 4 categories of terms of fitness equipment used in China today, all of which have the problem of not being standardized to different extents. Whereas realizing the standardization of terms of fitness equipment can produce a positive effect in terms of management, law, economy and culture, the authors explored the standardization of terms of fitness equipment based on the National Standard GB/T10112-959 of the People’s Republic of China, coupled with ideas for standardization, demonstrated that terms in the function category, bionics category and action category can be expressed in the form of “exercise posture”+“exercise purpose”+“exercise method”+“equipment term postfix” in a unified way, and specified that the usage of terms in the transliteration category in fitness equipment should be avoided.
