| （School of Physical Education，Three Gorges University，Yichang 443002，China） Abstract: According to the requirements for the development of professionalization of physical education teachers, the author analyzed the importance of the cultural makings of physical education teachers, and thought that the cul-tural makings of physical education teachers can be refined through internal refinement and external development, in which the internal refinement enables physical education teachers to perfect their characters, enrich their knowl-edge, keeps up with cutting edge developments, and retrospect innovations, while the external development is mainly embodied in promoting humanistic knowledge, blending in humanistic spirit and highlighting teaching ra-tionality in the practice of teaching.
