| （Department of Sociology，Shanghai University，Shanghai 200444，China） Abstract: The author summarily sorted the ideology and analysis strategies of the theory of social practice, intro-duced and explained the sociological analysis performed by Bourdiue on the sport domain by applying the theory of social practice, and concluded that the sports sociological study made by Bourdiue is conducive to thinking about such a theoretical issues as the mutual relation between “What is sports sociology” and “What does sports sociology do” theoretically. By following the main idea of studying the use of the theory of social practice in eastern and western countries by applying sports sociology, the author further retrospected the use of theories in the study of sport, social stratification and social inequality, and the applicability of conceptual tools of the theory of social prac-tice.
