(School of Physical Education,North East Normal University,Changchun 130024,China) Abstract: The physical education curriculum in fundamental education in China, which was not fully baptized by “modern thoughts”, tried to finish the postmodern construction of the physical education curriculum by means of crossing, advocated such educational thoughts as to replace techniques with experiences, cognition with emotion, teaching with construction, and uncertainty with uncertainty, rejected rational analysis and quantified study in cur-riculum study, which neglected and denied the patterns of the physical education curriculum. Via their study the au-thors drew the following conclusions: sticking to and perfecting modernity is a basis in the physical education cur-riculum reform in China today; postmodernism has a referential value and a “detoxification” function in physical education curriculum study; it is probing into the natures and patterns of the physical education curriculum that is a fundamental task to reveal various problems in physical education curriculum reform.
