(School of Law,Beijing Normal University,Beijing 100875,China) Abstract: About the legal nature of the regulations of international sports organizations, Chinese scholars have dif-ferent views, such as the international custom theory, the other sources of the international law theory, the interna-tional practices theory, and the contract theory. However, since the functions and influences of the regulations of in-ternational sports organizations in practice are different, their legal nature can not be generalized. The World Anti-Doping Code and the Olympic Truce have become international customs; most of the regulations of interna-tional sports organizations are international practices; other regulations of international sports organizations, such as the Olympic Charter, are provided only with the contract nature. Those regulations of international sports organiza-tions that are used as international practices can be directly applied in courts in China, while the validity of those regulations of international sports organizations that have a foreign contract attribute must be determined by courts according to applicable laws.
