| （Departement of Military-based Education，National University of Defense and Technology，Changsha 410072，China） Abstract: On the basis of carrying out a detailed examination on the process of formation of the concept of sport at home and abroad and existing achievements of researches on the concept and nature of sport, from the perspectives of systematology and dialectics, the authors concluded that in researches on the concept and nature of sport, sport should be placed in a grand system for examination, which includes social system, dialectic system, and interna-tional system, etc.
