| （School of Physical Education，Hunan Normal University，Changsha 410081，China） Abstract: School physical education is essentially an education carried out on the entire human body by means of physical activities, yet actually regarded as “a fitness education”; school physical education is essentially an under-taking to promote the healthy growth of students and embody human’s care about life, yet actually regarded as “the entrance decoration of schools”; physical education and health courses are essentially opened to emphasize “health first”, yet actually regarded as “health education courses”; school physical education is essentially established to advocate the interaction between schools, families and community sports, yet actually regarded as “intramural” physical education; school physical education is essentially an education to establish a lifetime sport foundation for students, yet actually regarded as “sport at the learning stage”. Therefore, school physical education should be un-derstood in a comprehensive, overall, intrinsic, long term and broad way.
