| （School of Physical Education，Chengdu University of Technology，Chengdu 610059，China） Abstract: The author probed into issues discussed in the article titled Contemplation of turning traditional national sports into competitive sports, and put forward the following opinions: turning traditional national sports into com-petitive sports is a trend in the course of development of traditional national sports modernization; turning tradi-tional Chinese national sports into competitive sports cannot be generalized, in stead of unilaterally seeking for big event transformation or total transformation, we should transform individual events differently based on actual cir-cumstances and by scientifically feeling the pulse of development of traditional national sports events, turn only those events that can be transformed into competitive sports events, correctly evaluate the possibility and reality of turning traditional national sports into competitive sports, shorten the battle line of turning traditional national sports into competitive sports; as for those traditional national sports events that cannot be turned into competitive sports events, we should further develop and protect them, carry on their traditional cultural features, and actively carry forward the essence of traditional Chinese national sports.
