| （School of Physical Education and Health，East China Normal University，Shanghai 200241，China） Abstract: An important characteristic of postmodernism philosophy is the emphasis on generation and difference. In fact, sport is in a constantly generating state, such an intrinsic driving force generated enables sport to have dif-ferent meanings in different contexts, such a multi-element difference is exactly the crux of arguments about the na-ture of sport. Based on such contemplation, the author expatiated on 4 basic dimensions from the perspective of hermeneutics, and considered that only by tightly grasping such 4 dimensions as the body, perception, transcendence and non productivity, and by constantly describing and interpreting sport based on specific scenes, can the nature of sport be truly understood.
