(Peace and Happiness Association,ST. Paul’s Co-Educational College,Hongkong,China) Abstract: During the period when WANG Li-qin and ZHANG Yi-ning of Chinese table tennis teams were prepar-ing for Beijing Olympic Games 2008, their core techniques were remodeled coincidentally. After WANG’s back-hand technique was remodeled, his forehand advantage was weakened, which hence weakened his aces for wining; After ZHNAG changed to the new approach of preemptive strikes, she always failed to take good control of the connection between the first three strokes and follow-up strokes. Consequentially, they all fell into a dilemma in which things went contrary to wishes. By analyzing the WANG and ZHANG cases, the author tried to probe into the cases from the perspective of psychology and sports psychology, suspected that their core techniques failed to exert their normal performance ultimately as a result of negative sports skill transformation caused by technical remodel-ing. The failure for the results of remodeling of core techniques of WANG Li-qin and ZHANG Yi-ning to turn out as wished indicates that it is very difficult to carry out core technique remodeling on top players, should be profoundly retrospected by us.
