(School of Physical Education,Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics,Nanchang 330013,China) Abstract: The author studied professional athletes’ decisions on labor supply, and added something new to the un-derstanding of labor supply by professional athletes. Based on a human capital investment model, the author devel-oped a human capital industrial investment model in order to analyze professional athletes’ industrial decisions. Based on the net present value of total income, the author developed a athlete career net present value model in or-der to analyze professional athletes’ decisions on the time to become a professional athlete. In addition, the author also analyzed the influence of competitive ability, employer preference and supply willingness on professional ath-letes’ decision on quitting.
